Service Description
Fondant Christmas Biscuit Class in Swindon Duration: 2 Hours Spaces: Maximum 8 Eight biscuits that look bought rather than homemade, and you take every one of them home with you. Most Christmas biscuit decorating is royal icing, piped and flooded. This is the other way of doing it. You will cover buttery shortbread with rolled fondant, cut it cleanly, emboss it, and finish it with hand painted detail and edible glitter. It is the technique behind the biscuits you see in expensive hampers, and it is far easier than it looks once somebody shows you the order to work in. The shortbread is freshly baked and the fondant coloured before you arrive, so the whole session goes on decorating. Bagged with ribbon, eight biscuits is enough for teacher gifts, a neighbour, or a Christmas Eve box, all made in an afternoon. What You'll Learn • How to roll fondant evenly without it sticking or tearing • How to cut cleanly so the fondant sits flush to the biscuit edge • How to fix fondant to shortbread so it does not lift • How to emboss patterns and use texture mats • How to layer fondant shapes for depth • How to hand paint detail with edible paint and dusts • Snowflakes, baubles, stars, holly and Christmas trees • How to bag and ribbon them like a proper gift What's Included • 8 freshly baked shortbread biscuits • Coloured fondant, cutters, embossers, edible paints, dusts and glitter • All tools and equipment • A glass of fizz, mince pies, tea and coffee, and Christmas music • Bags and ribbon to take them home in • The shortbread recipe emailed afterwards Who Is This Class For? Perfect for anyone who wants to give something handmade this Christmas without spending a whole weekend on it, for friends booking together, and for complete beginners. Allergen Information The shortbread contains wheat (gluten) and milk. Fondant and decorations may contain soya and gelatine. Everything is made in a kitchen that handles other allergens.
