Terms & Conditions
The figures provided in your quotation are valid for a period of three months. If you choose to proceed with your booking after this period the prices are subject to change as I am subject to price increases from suppliers. Please note a non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your date, your date will not be secured until payment has cleared.
All wedding cakes require a £100 non-refundable booking fee to secure your date (£50 if the order total is £200 or less). All celebration cakes require a £30 non-refundable booking fee to secure your order date. No booking is secured in my calendar until the booking fee has been received. This booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable should you cancel your order for any reason. Short notice orders that are placed within four weeks for wedding cakes and three weeks for celebration cakes are an exception to this and must be paid in full upon ordering.
For wedding cakes, the final balance must be cleared two weeks before collection or delivery of your wedding day. For celebration cakes, the final balance must be cleared two weeks before collection or delivery of your cake. If full payment is not received two weeks before the delivery/collection date, it is assumed that the cake has been cancelled. The cancellation policy, therefore, applies in all cases. If after the two week period you try to make a payment, I reserve the right to refuse your order in all cases with complete loss of any monies previously paid.
You can pay for your cake by an online bank transfer or by credit/debit. My bank details will be provided to you at the time of booking as well as an invoice and link to an online payment system. Cash is not accepted under any circumstances for wedding, general or celebration orders.
Your delivery and set up will be included within the total cost of your order unless stated otherwise at quotation.
GENERAL & CELEBRATION CAKE ORDERS:
Delivery is free of charge if the delivery address is within 5 miles of Kimmi's Cakes HQ (SN2 2PJ) please see the following charges for addresses which exceed this:
5.1 - 10 miles - £5.00
10.1 - 15 miles - £10.00
15.1 - 20 miles - £15.00
20.1 - 25 miles - £20.00
25.1 - 30 miles - £25.00
30.1 - 35 miles - £30.00
35.1 - 40 miles - £35.00
Please note, if no one is available to receive your order at the agreed delivery time, it will be returned to the business address and you will be contacted you to arrange an alternative delivery time; for which a charge may be payable.
Orders are permitted to be collected however, this only applies to cakes which are two tiers or below. My cakes are always carefully boxed and can be collected from the business address. I would always recommend collecting your cake in a vehicle as tiered cakes can be very heavy. Please be aware that once the cake has left my premises, I cannot be held responsible for any damage which may occur to the cake whilst in your care. Cakes which are three tiers or more will need to be constructed by myself at your venue on the day of your event.
- Cakes cancelled prior to 2 weeks of delivery date for any reason, including COVID: your non-refundable booking fee will be retained.
- Cakes cancelled less than 2 weeks of delivery date for any reason, including COVID: 100% of the amount already paid to Kimmi’s Cakes will be retained
It is extremely unlikely that I will be able to book in sufficient orders with such short notice, therefore the full amount of your booking will be retained to compensate loss of earnings as a result of your cancellation.
To ensure the situation is fair for both sides, I will allow 50% of the total (excluding the booking fee) to be held as a credit on file for you to use towards future orders with Kimmi’s Cakes. Please note these will still be subject to availability on the date you’re looking to book in for.
CHANGE OF WEDDING DATE:
If you need to move your wedding date for any reason, including COVID. I will allow the first date change to be move over free of charge. Your non-refundable booking fee and any payments made will be moved over to the new date.
Any date changes exceeding the first will incur and additional charge of £50 which is payable to secure the new date in my calendar. Should you not wish to pay this, it will be classed as a cancellation and the above terms will apply to your booking.
If I am not available on your new date, it will be classed as a cancellation and the above cancellation terms will apply.
GENERAL & CELEBRATION ORDERS:
- If cancelling 2 weeks or more in advance, your £30 non-refundable booking fee will be retained.
- If less than 2 weeks, 100% of total cost payable will be retained. To ensure the situation is fair for both sides, I will allow 50% of the total (excluding the booking fee) to be held as a credit on file for you to use towards future orders with Kimmi’s Cakes. Please note these will still be subject to availability on the date you’re looking to book in for.
- If you require a change of delivery date, I will try my best to accommodate these changes but could be fully booked for your new date, in which case the above cancellation policy will apply.

Your order will be baked as close to your delivery/collection day as possible to ensure quality and freshness. I advise that all cakes be consumed within 48 hours from collection/delivery, other items will confirmed upon ordering. I cannot be held responsible for any items consumed after these timings.
Cakes should be stored at room temperature, but away from direct sunlight, radiators or other sources of heat. I do not recommend keeping your cake in the fridge or somewhere cold (unless advised otherwise in your order details document) as it will not only make the fondant icing sweat, but it will also dry out the cake. For fondant covered cakes, cold temperatures will also cause condensation to form on the surface of the icing, ruins colours, pipework, edible lace and any sugar flowers or moulds.
GLUTEN FREE, DAIRY FREE & VEGAN:
I offer a selection of gluten* and dairy-free sponge cakes. With regards to nut allergies, I can take orders for these, but please bear in mind that I do have nuts on the premises, therefore I cannot 100% guarantee they will not contain nut traces. *Gluten-free flour is used however products which contain gluten are used on the premises also. For this reason, I will have to ask you to agree to a disclaimer stating you are happy to go ahead on that basis. Unfortunately, I cannot cater for any other allergies at this time.
Due to the bespoke and perishable nature of my products, they are non-refundable. However, if damage does occur at the irrefutable fault of my business, a partial or full refund may be given. This will be determined on an individual basis. Proof must be provided within 24 hours either in person or by way of pictorial evidence.
If you are unhappy with your order for any reason you must get in touch within 24 hours.
Once the cake has been cut and served, this will signify your acceptance that the cake was fit for purpose and no compensation will be given.
