General Orders

Deposits 

All orders require a £30 deposit to secure the booking date. There is a 14-day cooling off period. Should you choose to cancel within 14 days you will need to send an email to the following email address; info@kimmiscakes.co.uk after which,  you will receive a full refund of your booking fee, beyond this time the cancellation policy below applies. If you wish to cancel within 3 weeks of your order your £30 will not be refunded.

 

Prices

You agree to pay Kimmi’s Cakes the amount quoted at the time of ordering. All prices exclude VAT, should I become eligible I will inform you of this. Prices for my cakes & cupcakes are subject to change without notice, however your quote will be honoured for 3 months from the date it was issued. Should you cancel your order and wish to re-order after the 3 months, a new quote will be issued. This is due the prices of ingredients potentially increasing.

Payment Installments

The full balance for celebration cakes and cupcakes is required 3 weeks prior to the order date. Failure to make the payment of the remaining balance may result in your order being cancelled and your date being made available to another customer. You will also lose your £30 deposit.

Payment methods accepted are BACS transfer or card payment.

 

Late or Non-payments

Late or non-payments could result in loss of your booking date. The order will not be processed until alternative funding has been agreed and payment made in full. Completion of the order on the required date will not be guaranteed in these circumstances.

Cancellations & Changes to Dates

Should you cancel your order prior to 3 weeks of your delivery date, you will receive a refund of the balance, excluding the £30 deposit. Less than 3 weeks, 50% of the total cost payable will be retained. This is because it is unlikely that I will be able to fill the spot with another customer at such short notice.

Stand Hire Service

Should you hire a stand, a stand hire fee along with a refundable deposit will be required (quoted upon enquiry) and will be refunded in full on return of the stand. You will be required to return the stand within 3 days of your wedding date unless otherwise agreed. Any damages will be deducted from the deposit and if loss has occurred the deposit will be retained in full.

 

Delivery & Set Up

​Free delivery for general orders is included in your order total up to 10 miles from SN25 3LF however should your order require me to come and set up, the delivery & set up fee is £10 plus £1 per mile from SN25 3LF to the venue (Distance based on the mileage on Google Maps), however should the distance exceed 60 miles and/or if the set up will take more than 1 hour then additional fees may apply. This will be confirmed within your final quote. The fee includes; delivery to the agreed address for the specified time, liaison with the caterer or event manager and assembly of the cake at the venue.

I shall inspect your cake on arrival to the venue to ensure no damage has occurred whilst in transit. I will photograph the cake once it has been set up and I am 100% happy with its placement. Should any damage occur once delivery has been made, you and the venue e.g. hotel/wedding planner shall be solely responsible. Unfortunately, I am unable to accept liability for any damaged which occurs to your cake during display at your wedding.

Non-edible Materials

Your order may contain some non-edible items such as ribbons, toppers and wire in sugar flowers. I will note these on your delivery form, however you’ll be responsible for contacting your caterer to ensure they remove such items before serving.

Unhappy with Your Cake? ​

In the unlikely event that you’re unhappy with your cake, please notify me immediately on 07849 492575. If a replacement cake or cupcakes cannot be provided, a partial or full refund may be given at my discretion, this will be dependent on the individual circumstance(s). If you would like to complain, this will need to be made in writing within 48 hours of delivery, complaints beyond this time will not be considered for a refunded as the condition of the cake may have deteriorated after this time. If the cake is unsatisfactory in any way, I will request for it to be returned in full or as close to full as possible, cakes which have been largely eaten will not be eligible for a refund.

Designs

All of my cake designs can be modified however, this will be dependent on the information given to me by yourself. The interpretation of your bespoke requirements to the core designs will be approved by you during the order process, a written description and diagram will be provided to explain/show what you will receive. I’m unable to guarantee a 100% match to any colour requests for icing, as colours present differently in different materials. Due to the handmade nature of my products, slight variations can occur in the finished cake.

Alterations to Designs

Any alterations you wish to make to your confirmed, ordered cake design must be requested in writing to info@kimmiscakes.co.uk and I’m unable to guarantee that I’ll be able to make changes requested within a month of delivery. I will send email confirmation of any changes. Additional requests for alterations may incur further charges.

Allergies

Any special recipe requests such as ‘no nuts’ will be met wherever possible, however no absolute nut free or allergen free guarantees can be given, as some ingredients are not guaranteed nut free by the manufacturers and our kitchen is also used to prepare food containing nuts. Allergy information will be provided with all orders.

It is your responsibility to make me aware of any dietary and allergy requirements required. I’m unable to accept any liability for customers suffering allergic reactions from eating my cakes.

Food Safety

I take food safety very seriously, so you can enjoy your cake worry free. I’m fully registered with Swindon Borough Council and hold a current food hygiene certificate.

Wedding Orders

Bookings Fee

All wedding cake orders require a non-refundable booking fee of £100. This secures your date as well as covering correspondence, administration and your consultation. Once your deposit has been received and cleared, your date will then be secured. There is a 14-day cooling-off period. Should you cancel your order prior to 12 weeks of your delivery date, 50% of the total cost will be retained. Less than 12 weeks, 100% of the total cost payable will be retained. This is because it is unlikely that I will be able to fill the spot with another customer at such short notice. 

Change of wedding date: If for any reason you wish to rearrange the date of your wedding, I will try my best to accommodate these changes without any additional charges, provided sufficient notice is given, however, if I’m fully booked on your new wedding date and cannot provide the wedding cake, it will not be possible to refund your booking fee.

In the extremely unlikely event that I need to cancel your wedding order, I will provide you as much notice as possible and a full refund will be given.

Stand Hire Service

As an example, if your venue is 15 miles away from Kimmi's Cakes you will be charged £25 for your delivery and set up.
